Bung Enterprises - Doctor PC Jr.

Bung introduce the PC Junior. Bit of an odd one this - although its not strictly a copier, it can backup Famicom games. Bung market the thing as a mini PC, and wanted to have it used in schools in China! And yes, it has the unique ability to play Famicom and backup Famicom ROMs! This unit has the Famicom hardware built in, and it comes with one controller that is propriatary - you cant use an old Famicom controller. There is an optional second pad, keyboard, and mouse you can buy too. It has a cart slot on the top, and a unique Famicom file format, very similar to GDSF7.. instead of sfxxxxx the ROMs had to be in fcxxxxx filename. Only two progs were ever made to do the converting. The main one was I2D and the other was QPD. Both are pretty poor, only managing to sucessfully handle about 30% of ROMs. Also it doesn't help that the PC Jnr only supports 4 mappers which is another reason why there is so much incompatibility and graphics glitches. The unit has no SRAM, but it does have 4Mb of RAM which can handle all games except multicarts.
